Elevate Your Career:
A Proactive Approach to Navigating Change
This immersive course consists of 25 video lessons and accompanying application activities spread out over five modules. I was responsible for the entire instructional design process as well as building the course in the Learning Management System (LMS). The target audience includes individuals navigating career transitions or those seeking to enhance their skills and advance in their current roles.
My Process
To bring this project to life, I utilized the structured approach of the ADDIE model. In the analysis phase, I collaborated with my subject matter expert (SME) — a senior leader and the organization's chief learning architect — to gather valuable insights. These discussions provided the information needed to transition into the design phase, where I created a comprehensive course map that served as the blueprint for the final eLearning product.
After receiving approval on the course map, I began drafting detailed course scripts to connect the video lessons and outline key activities designed to reinforce each lesson’s objectives. Once the course scripts were finalized, I seamlessly transitioned into the development phase, building the course within the LMS.
Upon completing the eLearning course, I invited feedback from fellow instructional designers to evaluate its effectiveness. Their input allowed me to make necessary revisions, ensuring smooth functionality and consistency across the design. As the course remains in use by learners, I continuously assess its effectiveness using both qualitative and quantitative measures, making data-driven adjustments as needed to enhance the learning experience.
Course Map
At the start of this project, I developed a comprehensive course map to guide the design process. My first step was to define the course's overall learning objectives, followed by breaking these down into specific goals for each of the five modules. From there, I carefully selected 25 video lessons — five for each module —
ensuring each was purposefully chosen to meet the learning objectives. For each video, I outlined its rationale for inclusion, as well as suggested application activities and informal assessment opportunities to reinforce the content. This course map was a critical part of the planning phase, allowing me to justify each instructional choice and refine the course structure. It also provided a valuable "big picture" perspective, helping me design a seamless flow from one video lesson to the next, ensuring the course felt cohesive and engaging for learners.

Course Scripts
The next phase of my planning process involved creating detailed course scripts, which serve as a text-based blueprint for the course. In this step, I wrote the content for each module, ensuring it was both informative and engaging. I also incorporated actionable activities that learners could immediately apply to reinforce their understanding of the material. To further enhance the learning experience, I aligned each module’s content with its specific learning objectives and crafted self-reflection questions for learners to complete at the end of each module. These questions encouraged deeper reflection and helped learners assess their progress.

Development & Implementation
Once the course scripts were finalized, I moved on to building the eLearning course within the LMS. This phase required meticulous attention to detail to ensure that each piece of content was placed correctly within the course flow and was free from errors. The completed course featured five modules, containing a total of 25 video lessons, 10 reflection-based activities, and 10 actionable application missions. Additionally, each module was structured around its own set of five learning objectives, with a self-reflection exercise at the end of each module to help learners assess their progress and evaluate how well the objectives were achieved.

Measurement
This course remains in active use by clients, and I continuously assess its effectiveness to ensure it meets learning goals. I evaluate the course using both qualitative measures, such as user surveys, and quantitative data, including learner engagement, content starts, retention, and completion rates. To date, the course has been successfully utilized by over 400 learners, providing valuable insights into its ongoing impact.
